PHILIPS

Philips is a Dutch multinational company that manufactures monitors, televisions, headphones, home appliances, lighting and medical equipment. The company was founded in 1891 by Frederick Philips and his son Gerard Philips. Over the years, Philips has been known for its innovations in electronics, being the inventor of the compact disc (CD) and DVD, as well as Ambilight technology for televisions.

The company is also known for its lighting products, including LED light bulbs and luminaires. In 2019, Philips had revenues of about 19.5 billion euros and more than 80,000 employees in over 100 countries worldwide.
