Description

Total QUARTZ 7000 10W-40 engine oil is produced using synthetic technology and is intended for use in petrol or diesel engines. It meets the high and strict requirements of passenger car engine manufacturers. It is a good choice for multivalve and turbo engines under normal operating conditions. They can be used in vehicles equipped with older catalytic systems, and are also suitable if your car runs on biofuel or unleaded petrol. 5-litre container. Specifications: ACEA A3/B4; API SL/CF. Approvals: PSA B71 2294/B71 2300; VW 501.01/505.00; MB 229.1. What should we know about them? ACEA A3/B4 – low-volatility lubricants intended for petrol and diesel engines with direct injection (TDI). In terms of evaporation losses, as well as piston cleanliness and oxidation stability, they outperform lubricants rated ACEA A3/B3. API SL – for vehicles up to 2004. These lubricants can be used in some multivalve and turbo engines. They are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly; API CF – a standard from 1994. It is designed for off-road, indirect-injected and other diesel engines, including those running on fuel with a sulphur content above 0.5%. PSA B71 2300 – optimal for modern petrol and diesel engines (including turbo) in passenger cars. Suitable for use with extended oil change intervals and demanding engine requirements. PSA B71 2294 – the approval was introduced in 2009 and is intended for Peugeot and Citroën brands. The core requirements match the ACEA A3/B4 specification plus additional requirements. VW 501.01 – suitable for some VW engines produced before 2000. This is an old class of engine oils and applies only to engines produced before August 1999. After that date, engines must use VW 502.00. VW 505.00 – for engine oils in diesel engines with performance level CCMC PD-2. For oils with viscosity 10W-40, a maximum of 15% evaporation loss is permitted. This is an old specification for cars before 2000. Never confuse it with 505.01! MB 229.1 – for passenger cars with diesel or petrol engines manufactured between 1998 and 2002. Requirements are higher compared with ACEA A3/B3 standards. It is not recommended for use in vehicles manufactured after 2002, namely petrol M271, M275, M28, as well as diesel OM646, OM647 and OM648. Physico-chemical properties: Viscosity grade: 10W-40; Density at 15°: 873.6 cm3; Kinematic viscosity at 40°C, ASTM D445: 96.8 mm²/s; Viscosity at 100°C, ASTM D445: 14.81 mm²/s; ASTM D2270 Index: 160. Advantages: Meets the strictest manufacturer quality criteria, so you can be sure these lubricants will extend the life of your engine; the formulation was improved in 2008, combining a base oil with additional additives that ensure oxidation stability; they have excellent dispersant (detergent) properties; they provide additional corrosion protection, thereby increasing the engine's service life.
