7.2 channels at 95 W with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for home cinema in a medium-sized room.

The Denon AVR-X2800H is a 7.2-channel AV receiver with an output power of 95 W per channel at 8 ohms and built-in HEOS for wireless listening in several rooms. Six HDMI inputs and two outputs handle a TV, console and player at once, and 8K video passes through without transcoding. Configurations include 7.2 with two subwoofers or 5.2.2 with ceiling channels for Dolby Atmos.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X with immersive sound overhead

Object-based formats position individual sounds in space, including in height when ceiling or Atmos-module speakers are connected. For older films and music, the receiver offers DTS Neural:X and Virtual:X, which distribute two-channel and 5.1 material across all available speakers.

6 x HDMI inputs with 8K and Dolby Vision

Three of the inputs are 8K-ready, and two HDMI outputs allow a TV and a projector to be connected at the same time. HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG and Dynamic HDR are supported, as well as eARC for returning audio from the TV's apps over a single cable.

Gaming with 4K/120 Hz, VRR and ALLM

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X pass through the receiver without losing frames — variable refresh rate, automatic low-latency mode and QFT for faster frame delivery are supported. The picture stays in sync with the TV during fast action.

HEOS for multi-room music

Streaming over Wi-Fi covers Spotify, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Qobuz and AirPlay 2, and grouping with other HEOS devices plays the same recording in the kitchen and the living room. Control runs through the HEOS app or a voice assistant — Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri. Bluetooth and the FM/AM tuner remain available.

Audyssey calibration for the room's acoustics

Measurement with the included microphone balances the levels, distances and frequency response of each speaker according to the room's reflections. Setup is guided by an on-screen assistant with video steps, so the first installation works without a manual.
