Product information:
CORPOFIX presents its FV 16 air purifier, which uses UV light, HEPA filter, activated carbon filter and negative ion generator to effectively clean closed areas from viruses and bacteria.
Concerns about levels of air pollution, both outdoors and indoors, are growing. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), indoor air can be five times more polluted than outdoor air. Because indoor air does not circulate as much as outdoor air, many indoor pollutants last significantly longer. Air purifiers can freshen stale air, reducing the chances of health problems caused by pollutants that can cause respiratory infections and neurological disorders. Air purifiers eliminate several types of indoor pollutants, maintaining a clean and healthy air environment.
How does the CORPOFIX FV16 air purifier work?
The CORPOFIX FV 16 air purifier contains 3 filters, a UV lamp, a fan and a timer. The fan sucks in air and passes through the internal filters. These filters trap contaminants such as dust, pollen, bacteria and volatile gases, and disperse clean air back into the room, while the UV lamp deals with more resistant pathogens:
- Pre-filter: Captures larger contaminants such as dust, animal hair, furniture fabric.
- HEPA filter: The HEPA filter captures contaminants as small as 0.3 microns. These tiny particles cannot even be seen by the human eye.
- Activated Carbon Filter: This activated carbon filter effectively traps volatile gases such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide, unpleasant cooking odors, aerosols, etc.
- Ultraviolet light (UV): Eliminates resistant microbes in the air.
- Timer: The timer facilitates use through flexible mode programming and minimal need for control on your part.
Advantages of the air purifier
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 12 people suffer from some form of asthma. People living with asthma have chronically inflamed bronchi. Contaminants such as microorganisms from pets, pollen or mites irritate the respiratory tract, causing difficulty breathing.
Air purifiers with HEPA filters can remove 99.7 percent of the air particles circulating in your home environment. They consist of multi-layered nets made of fine fiberglass strands that are thinner than human hair. Pollen, dust mites and pet dandruff are captured by these fibers and minimize contaminants.
Removing these pollutants can lead to several immediate and long-term health benefits.
-
Improves sleep
Frequent coughing, sneezing or difficulty breathing are some allergic reactions that indicate stagnant or polluted air, and in some more severe cases, airborne allergens can also cause hay fever. Hay fever can last up to several weeks, and in the long run disrupts the circadian rhythm of sleep. Lack of adequate sleep causes drowsiness during the day, which can affect your performance on the next day. Air purifiers with a HEPA filter reduce the chances of allergies by trapping contaminants, thus improving sleep quality and cognitive function.
- Protection against airborne diseases
Airborne diseases such as the common cold and flu are spread by small pathogens that are carried in the air. Air purifiers with HEPA filters capture these bacteria and viruses. If you live with the elderly, children or someone with a weakened immune system, air purifiers are highly recommended.

Eliminates harmful chemicals indoors
Closing the doors and windows of the house does not mean that we can completely block external pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide. These gases are often found in areas with heavy motor vehicle traffic. Research from the National Library of Medicine in the United States (NLM) shows that exposure to carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide increases the risk of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Even if you do not live in big cities with a lot of traffic, the home atmosphere can be contaminated with toxins from cleaning agents. Many common household cleaners contain toxic chemicals such as ammonia, chlorine and phthalates. Exposure to these chemicals in small amounts can be harmless, but routine exposure can lead to serious health problems such as tumors, cancer, cardiovascular or neurological disorders.
Activated charcoal purifiers can purify chemical contaminants avoiding the risk of several health problems in the future.
-
Neutralizes unpleasant odors
Some chemicals, such as benzene and formaldehyde, decompose at room temperature, causing an unpleasant odor. These chemicals, called volatile organic compounds (VOCs), are often found in paints, aerosol sprays, upholstered furniture or air fresheners. The smell of VOCs can cause nausea, shortness of breath and even affect cognitive functions. Studies by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) show that low levels of VOCs in ambient air improve productivity and concentration. HEPA air purifiers and activated carbon filters have been shown to capture these gases and their particles.
-
Removes harmful radon and asbestos particles
The decomposition of natural radioactive elements such as uranium found in some building materials produces radon gas. Radon is a colorless and odorless gas emitted by basic building materials such as rocks, soil and granite. Radon gas damages the cell membranes of the lungs, which increases the chance of developing lung cancer. An EPA estimate from 2013 shows that there are up to 21,000 deaths a year in the United States related to lung cancer caused by radon gas.
Asbestos roofing materials or insulation pipes were common from the 1940s to the 1960s. If you live in an old house or work in an old commercial building, you may be exposed to asbestos particles. Inhalation of asbestos particles for a long time can cause lung disease.
HEPA and activated carbon filters can trap radon and asbestos particles as well as their gaseous form, protecting you from their harmful effects.

How long does a CORPOFIX FV16 air purifier take to clean a room?
The time for full air circulation depends on the size of the room, but at standard size it does not take more than 10-15 minutes.
Maintenance
It is recommended that HEPA and Active Charcoal filters be renewed once every 6 months for optimal results.
