Polk Audio Monitor XT70 floorstanding speaker, black — pair

Dual 6.5" bass and Hi-Res Audio certified speaker up to 40 kHz for large rooms.

Polk Audio Monitor XT70 is the tallest floorstanding speaker model in the Monitor XT series and is offered as a set of two speakers in black. Each cabinet combines two 6.5" Dynamic Balance woofers, two 8" passive bass radiators, and a 1" Terylene dome tweeter, with a frequency response starting from 35 Hz. An 89 dB sensitivity and compatibility with 4- and 8-ohm outputs allow operation with standard home AV receivers and stereo amplifiers from 25 to 200 W per channel.

Bass from 35 Hz with two passive radiators

The two 6.5" bi-laminate paper cone woofers handle midrange and punch, while the 8" passive radiators extend the low end without the need for a separate subwoofer for music. The crossover is at 2700 Hz, which keeps vocals and instruments in one driver without splitting.

Hi-Res Audio certified tweeter up to 40 kHz

The Terylene dome is driven by a low-resonance ceramic magnet system and reproduces the detail of high-resolution files from Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music, and Amazon Music HD. Highs remain clear and airy even at higher listening levels.

Dolby Atmos certification and DTS:X compatibility

The speakers work with current surround sound AV receivers without specialized equipment and take on the role of front channels in a home theater. For a height effects channel, the Monitor XT90 module is added, which is purchased separately; for center and surround, the series offers the Monitor XT20 and XT30.

MDF cabinet with internal bracing and removable grille

The cabinet is made of MDF with internal ribs that suppress parasitic resonances and standing waves. The precision-fit front grille is removable, and the nickel-plated terminals accept bare wire, spade lugs, or banana plugs.
