Description
Verbatim's USB 2.0 ToughMAX was made of KyronMAXTM components — used instead of thermoplastic metal, which is able to withstand extremely harsh conditions and is used in the most demanding applications: from mountain bikes to fighter aircraft. KyronMAXTM components are extremely lightweight and durable, which makes them ideal for USB memory housings that can withstand virtually anything and protect data from physical destruction. KyronMAXTM components are manufactured by Piper Plastics, which, like Verbatim, belongs to the Mitsubishi Chemical group. This remarkable material has been adapted in many industries, including aviation, medical and industrial and automotive, and its tensile strength to mass ratio is higher than for steel.
The ToughMAX USB disc in a housing made of KyronMAXTM structural components can withstand:Crushing forces up to 2250 kg*
Immersion in water up to 30 m*
Extreme temperatures from -25°C to 150°C*
*On the basis of independent tests conducted by SGS. The actual parameters may vary.
