Recommended use:
Painting of plasterboard, gypsum, cement and lime plasters, decorative painting of concrete substrates, as well as renovation of old coatings. The product can be used on small wooden and metal surfaces. Before application, the surface must be primed with a suitable primer.
ENCAPSULATING TECHNOLOGY
Very good coverage; Increased durability of the paint surface against stains and dirt such as: mayonnaise, Maggi seasoning, chocolate sauce, butter, beetroot, oil**; Increased resistance of the paint surface to dirt and dust. Reduced salt migration effect (lower migration of salts in old buildings, churches, museums, etc.).
EASY APPLICATION:
Non-dripping formula;
Very good adhesion to the surface;
Easy spreading of the paint; Optimal drying time;
Tinting: by colour cards: Feel the Color 2020, Deco Grey, Symphony color system, Pro Grey. Colours from Tikkurila Symphony, Tikkurila Deco Grey, NCS, RAL colour cards.
Application method:
Brush, roller, spray (nozzle: 415/418, pressure: 150-180 bar) – dilution with water up to 5% by volume.
Drying time at 23°C and 50% relative air humidity: the paint requires approximately 2 hours to dry. The interval between coats should be at least 4 hours. At lower temperatures and higher humidity, the time between coats should be longer.
Light resistance: Test of resistance to irradiation of the surface with UVC germicidal lamps – the type of surface and colour shade do not change after 8 hours of irradiation.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Application conditions: All surfaces intended for coating must be dry, the air temperature must not be lower than +5°C or higher than +25°C, and the relative air humidity must be below 80%.
Previously unpainted surfaces:
New render and concrete substrates can be painted 4 weeks after they have fully dried. Clean these surfaces of dust and dirt, and smooth out unevenness and weak spots with filler. Plasterboard, cardboard and screed can be painted once they have fully dried. If surface unevenness is significant, the wall should be levelled with a levelling compound, and then a smooth filler applied over the entire surface. In the case of minor unevenness, you can apply smooth filler directly. The use of the above mortars and screeds must follow the information sheets for those products. Machine-applied plaster with a visibly glossy agglomerate surface must be sanded and cleaned of dust. Then apply one coat of Optiva Primer.
Previously painted surfaces: Wash the surface before applying the coating and remove grease with Maalipesu, dirt, and weak and flaking fragments of the old coating. Sand glossy surfaces and smooth out unevenness with filler. Paints with a gloss effect – satin, semi-matte, semi-gloss and gloss – must be sanded over the entire surface before final dust removal. When sanding, use sandpaper with grit 150-200. Prime the entire substrate with Optiva Primer. Priming may be omitted only if the existing coating is fully intact (the manufacturer is not responsible for incorrect assessment of the actual condition of the substrate).
Surfaces treated with adhesive or painted with lime paints: Thoroughly remove the lime paint or adhesive. Clean the surfaces of dust and dirt, smooth out unevenness with filler. Then apply one coat of Optiva Primer. In the case of a weak substrate, prime with Tikkurila Suprabilit. Note: It is recommended to check that the filler used has a firm and stable surface; if after light rubbing by hand the filler crumbles or leaves dust on the hand, this means the surface is friable and must be primed with Tikkurila Suprabilit.
Finishing coat: Before painting, mix a sufficient quantity of paint from one production batch to avoid possible colour differences. Before application, stir the paint thoroughly. Depending on the porosity of the substrate, apply 2 coats of Tikkurila Optiva Mat 5 by brush, roller or spray. For colours with particularly weak hiding power (marked in the tinting system), additional coats may be necessary. When applying colours marked in the tinting system as weak-hiding (LH) and intense colours from base C, it is recommended to use Tikkurila Optiva Primer tinted in a colour close to the finishing paint. The masking tape limiting the painted surface must be removed immediately after painting, before the paint dries. The use of ANZA painting tools is recommended. Note: The full wet-scrub resistance according to PN-EN 13300 is achieved 28 days after completion of painting.
