The all-new mirrorless camera Nikon Z5II is a powerful full-frame model that comes in a convenient design and compact format, inheriting many excellent features from professional Z series cameras. Users can unleash their creativity with fast intelligent focusing and superb low-light shooting capabilities. Z5II also features a bright electronic viewfinder, 4K UHD video capability, advanced color control and refined ergonomics for more intuitive use.
24.5MP FX sensor and EXPEED 7 processor
The combination of the most powerful Nikon EXPEED 7 image processor and an FX-format 24.5MP BSI CMOS sensor delivers incredible handheld shooting capabilities. You can count on improved sensitivity, nuanced image quality, fast AI-powered autofocus, and full-resolution continuous shooting at up to 30 fps.
With native sensitivity values of ISO 100-64000, you can work in a wide range of lighting conditions, and if necessary, use the extended ISO 50-204800 settings for extreme conditions. The high resolution and size of the sensor also contribute to creating clean image quality and smooth color gradations with reduced noise throughout the sensitivity range.
Autofocus
By utilizing the Z9’s algorithms and learning technology, including advanced object recognition for nine different object types, the Z5II recognizes a variety of different object types, ranging from people to animals to airplanes and bicycles. The Z5II also features the popular dedicated Bird Detection mode. When operating in Auto-Area AF, these objects will be automatically detected, focused on, and tracked to achieve sharp focus as the subject moves through the frame.
Stabilization
The camera is built with a 5-axis sensor-shift vibration reduction (VR) mechanism that compensates for up to five stops of stabilization regardless of the lens used. With compatible lenses, up to 7.5 stops of image stabilization are possible around the active focus point in the center of the frame, and up to 6.0 stops at the periphery. Electronic VR is also available, which is particularly useful for video recording, helping to create steady footage when shooting handheld.
UHD 4K video recording
Capable of capturing more than just still images, the Z5II offers enhanced video capabilities. It supports UHD 4K video recording at up to 60 fps and Full HD recording at up to 120 fps, along with recording time limits of up to 2 hours, a video self-timer function, built-in electronic vibration reduction, and the ability to save movie files to the camera’s memory cards or an optional external recorder via the HDMI output. The camera also has a time-lapse mode, allowing you to create a finished UHD 4K video file directly from the camera.
Videographers will be able to record in 4K N-RAW format directly to an SD memory card in the camera. While users who want to color grade or unlock cinematic looks with RED LUTs will be able to shoot video in N-Log, allowing for greater flexibility in post-processing.
Color control
Nikon have added a Picture Control button to the Z5II, providing access to its 31 built-in presets even in auto mode. Preset colors can now be overlaid on the LCD screen, allowing you to preview color changes as you create. Creator features are available via the Nikon Imaging Cloud and can be downloaded and integrated with the presets.
Design
The large 3.2'' 2.1 million dot LCD screen doubles the brightness for clear, vivid image reproduction and enables live view shooting. The vari-angle touchscreen design means much more intuitive operation, navigation and control of settings and shooting. The Z5II is also equipped with an ultra-bright 3.69 million dot electronic viewfinder for comfortable eye-level viewing.
Two SD memory card slots support up to UHS-II protocol for high-speed and efficient recording of photos and videos. The headphone jack also serves as a terminal for the optional remote release cable Nikon MC-DC3, and the USB-C terminal supports both camera charging and USB power supply. The micro HDMI port allows external recording and live view.
Built-in SnapBridge connectivity means seamless transfer of low-resolution images, as well as remote shooting capabilities. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi connectivity provide communication between the camera and your smart device. In addition, your mobile device can remotely trigger the shutter and display a live view of the camera, allowing you to work remotely.
Power supply
The included rechargeable lithium-ion battery EN-EL15c powers approximately 380 shots on a single charge. Charging of the battery while in the camera is maintained via the USB, even when the camera is in use.
