ACEA E4 describes requirements for shear-stable engine oils for trucks regarding soot-handling capacity, wear protection, and for vehicles with EGR or SCR systems. ACEA E7 replaced ACEA E5 from 2004 onwards, and E3 sets particularly high requirements for engine oil regarding wear protection, viscosity stability, soot dispersion and engine cleanliness.
