Continuing the legacy of our superb EOS 7D series cameras, the EOS R7 combines virtuoso performance and brutal speed in a next-generation mirrorless body from the EOS R series.
The EOS R7 is built around an APS-C sensor, so its lenses offer a 1.6x greater telephoto reach compared with the equivalent focal length on a full-frame camera. You'll feel as if you're standing right next to your subject, capturing frame-filling portraits and striking action shots.
We gave the EOS R7 deep-learning AI technology and iTR AF (available on the EOS R3, EOS R5 and EOS R6). This means it can recognise people, animals and vehicles and keep them sharply in focus wherever they move within the frame.
Imagine shooting long exposures to deliberately blur moving subjects while holding the camera in your hand, without a tripod. Or recording super-smooth video while you walk. The in-body image stabiliser (IBIS) unlocks all kinds of new ways to be creative and may even make you rethink how you work with your camera.
The in-body image stabiliser works together with the optical image stabiliser built into many of our RF lenses. Thanks to lightning-fast communication and the large physical width of the RF mount, 5-axis stabilisation of up to 7 stops is possible with the RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM, and up to 8 stops with other RF lenses.
Capture RAW, JPEG and HEIF files at a stunning 15 fps – or up to 30 fps when using the camera's silent electronic shutter – with continuous AF and AE that keep responding while you shoot. The highest shutter speed of 1/16,000 s on the electronic shutter reveals details that are often missed by the naked eye.
The camera's DIGIC X processor provides fast, dynamic control and practically eliminates viewfinder lag. Up to 42 RAW files and 126 JPEG files can be captured in a single burst at 30 fps.
Frame rates available during video recording are up to 60p in 4K and up to 120p when recording in Full HD. It captures moving subjects with incredible precision and creates super-smooth slow-motion effects in post-production.
Images are rich in detail, colour and dynamic range – even in low light thanks to the maximum ISO sensitivity of 32,000. Oversampling from the sensor's 7K output creates 4K video of exceptionally high quality, and Canon Log 3 provides wide dynamic range and post-capture editing options.
Take your next creative steps with a camera that offers new technologies while retaining the familiar, intuitive feel of your DSLR. New design features – such as the combined autofocus point selector and rear control dial – complement classic EOS handling and an instantly recognisable menu.
The EOS R7 can work with your smartphone, tablet or computer via the Canon Camera Connect app. The Bluetooth low-power connection keeps communication with your smart device going, so you can view, download and share full-size or reduced-size images and videos over Wi-Fi, wherever you shoot. It is also compatible with iPhone11, meaning you can connect via a high-speed USB-C cable.
