Full home cinema in a housing only 109 mm high.
The Marantz CINEMA 70s is a 7.2-channel AV receiver with a slimline chassis, 50 W per channel at 8 Ohms and Dolby Atmos and DTS:X processing. Six HDMI inputs and one eARC output take a TV, console and player, while the built-in HEOS adds multiroom and streaming over Wi-Fi.
The 109 mm height without an upright antenna allows installation in furniture where a classic receiver won't fit. The discrete amplifier stages use a Class A/B topology, and the internal layout preserves the brand's characteristic warm and detailed sound.
The seven amplified channels can be configured as 5.1.2 with ceiling or Atmos speakers, or as a 7.1 set. Two independent subwoofer outputs help deliver more even bass in the room, and Bi-Amp mode can be assigned to the front speakers.
Decoding covers Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos Music and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Neural:X and DTS Virtual:X. Virtualization extends the soundstage upward when ceiling speakers cannot be routed.
Three of the inputs take 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz signals for last-generation consoles, with support for HDR and Dolby Vision. The single HDMI output works with eARC, so sound from the TV's apps returns over the same cable.
Automatic calibration with the supplied microphone sets levels, distances and frequency correction for each speaker. The new HD on-screen interface guides you through setup step by step.
The built-in HEOS connects the receiver with other HEOS devices and plays different music in different rooms from a single app. TIDAL, Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz and Tune-In are supported, and Roon Ready and Control 4 compatibility open the way to more serious home systems. A separate phono (MM) input accepts a turntable without an external preamplifier.
