Folding knife for craftsmen Opinel - No. 9, DIY, grey

Sharp and delicate, the special knife for craftsmen Opinel is designed to handle all tasks with ease! At the base of the blade there are two tools that allow precise cutting or stripping of cables, cords and ropes. The handle is made of polyamide reinforced with fibreglass and has one built-in tip with a straight screwdriver and one with a cross-head.

The stainless steel with a hardness of 55-57 HRC, used in the blades is a grade optimised to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance. The advantage of stainless steel is that it requires no special maintenance under normal conditions of use. However, it may reach its limits if it is left in prolonged contact with aggressive environments (acid, salt water, cleaning products, etc.).

Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from No. 6 onwards. Cut from stainless steel, Virobloc has two sections - one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety during use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety during transport).
