The Volca FM2 doubles the number of voices compared to its predecessor, now offering 6 voices instead of 3, which opens up new harmonic possibilities for your production. You can play, sequence or arpeggiate complex chords with up to 6 voices simultaneously, which brings a unique character to your musical creation. The model is velocity sensitive via MIDI, which, combined with 6-voice polyphony, provides extremely expressive and nuanced performance. The synthesizer has 6 operators and 32 classic algorithms, which provide full compatibility with DX7 and the ability to load thousands of ready-made patches.
The built-in 16-step sequencer allows you to record your performance in real time, and you can store up to 16 sequential patterns in internal memory. The Motion sequence function records all the subtle nuances of your playing and knob movements, allowing you to add dynamic changes to the sound. The Warp Active Step function compensates for the smaller number of steps to take up the same playback time as 16 steps, and the Pattern Chain function links multiple sequence patterns for sequential playback, allowing you to construct large-scale developments of 32, 64, or even 256 steps.
By popular demand, the model includes two effects – Chorus and Reverb – which can be used and adjusted individually to add the finishing touch to any FM sound. The new program randomizer lets you find new inspiration through unexpected patches and happy coincidences. The MODULATOR/CARRIER knobs make editing FM sounds accessible and intuitive, with knob movements mapped to multiple parameters for easy-to-understand sonic changes.
The synthesizer is powered by 6 AA batteries (included) or an optional AC adapter (KA350), making it extremely portable. The built-in speaker allows for immediate playing without the need for external devices. The compact and lightweight body weighing 360 g makes it ideal for studio work and live performances.
