Description
Trio is a card party game in which the goal is to collect trios (a trio contains three cards with the same number). On their turn, a player may turn over two cards – from the hand of some player (the highest or the lowest number) or from the cards on the table. If the turned cards are identical, they continue; if they reveal three identical ones, they take them as a Trio. The first player to collect 3 trios wins, or immediately with a trio of sevens.
How is it played?
The deck consists of 36 cards, numbered from 1 to 12 three times each. Players receive several cards in hand, which they must arrange from low to high value, and the remaining cards are placed face down on the table.
When it is your turn, choose one card to reveal – a card with a low or high value from a player's hand (including your own) or any face-down card from the table. Then do this again. If the two cards show the same number, continue your turn; if not, return the cards to their places and end your turn.
If you reveal three cards with the same number, take these cards as a set in front of you. If you are the first player to collect three sets, you win – except when a player wins immediately by collecting a set of 7s, or two sets that add up or subtract to 7, for example 4s and 11s.
