Antifreeze G11 SHERON - blue antifreeze made on a silicate basis (IAT – inorganic acid technology). The silicates form a thin, continuous protective film on the surface of parts, which prevents the formation of corrosion centres, but slightly reduces thermal conductivity. The composition of such liquids includes ethylene glycol and inorganic additives. Antifreezes are more suitable for cars manufactured before 1996. It is important to note that the solution includes borates, phosphates, nitrites and amines.
Blue G11 antifreeze is acceptable for mixing:
- with other blue or light blue coolants;
- with products of other colours but with the same G11 marking on the label;
- with products from the same manufacturer and class, even if they are coloured differently;
- with products of different brands, taking other parameters into account.
Blue G11 antifreeze is unacceptable for mixing:
- after red, yellow and purple products of class G12 and higher;
- with agents of a completely different composition.
Therefore, if you plan to switch to blue antifreeze of unknown class or of G12 and higher, you must drain the old coolant and flush the system.
Mixing carboxylate and silicate antifreezes is impossible, as their chemical combination produces negative and unpredictable reactions.
Blue antifreeze G11 SHERON is replaced after 2–3 years, depending on operating conditions and the recommendations of the car manufacturer.
