During production, Luminarc items go through a thermal treatment stage, which leads to better mechanical and thermal resistance of the material. They are heat resistant up to 135°C, allowing one container to be taken out of the fridge and placed directly into the microwave.

All Luminarc items, be it glass, porcelain or other dishes, are dishwasher safe. Most of Luminarc's products are made of glass. It is a non-porous material in all its forms (opal, clear or colored glass) so it does not retain any microorganisms that can lead to bacterial infections.
