COMPO POT SUBSTRATE FOR ORCHIDS

A special substrate for epiphytic plants that provides an excellent microclimate for the roots.
Orchids are mycotrophic (i.e. they use fungi to extract nutrients from the environment), so their substrate must contain a certain amount of undecomposed plant material.

Composition:

• Peat
• Pine bark
• Clay

Features:

• Reaction (pH) 5.0-6.5
• Soluble minerals <1.5 g/l
• Nitrates (N) 20-170 mg/l
• Phosphorus (P) 60-250 mg/l
• Potassium (K) 100-350 mg/l

Tips:

• The best time to plant orchids is at the end of the dormant period.
• Be careful not to damage the fragile roots when planting.
• The root should be at the level of the edge of the pot.
• The substrate should not be pressed down, so if necessary, use a support stick to keep the plant upright.
• After planting, do not water for 3-5 days to allow damaged tissues to dry out.
